William F. Hicks
As Lead
Consultant at Broken Shovel Consulting with education in Landscape Architecture,
Engineering and Commerce, my career experience is vast and continues to grow.
I have worked in
the private, not-for-profit and government sectors.
From ‘on the
ground’ built heritage restoration & reuse and façade/waterfront/main street
revitalization to directing the multi-faceted provincial Heritage & Archaeology
Branch to being the Chief Executive Officer of the New Brunswick Museum, it has
been quite a ride.
With all of this
has come involvement in administration & management; urban & site design;
project development, management & funding; program & policy development;
provision of services for historic places, archaeology, toponomy & museums; the
drafting & administration of provincial heritage legislation; support to
government Ministers; cultural facility leadership, operation & renewal.
Creatively,
I have exhibited paintings, implemented installation art, written columns and
published cartoons.
I am a
partner, father, grandfather and friend. I have traveled extensively and
continue to learn.
My full résumé is available on request.
